PES University’s ‘EPSILON 2017’ attended by 2.500 students

Bengaluru: As many as 2,500 students participated in PES University’s 15th inter collegiate science and technology fest, ‘EPSILON 2017’.

Shanthi Swaroop Bhatnagar awardee, Dr. Madan Rao, Professor at National Centre for Biological Sciences, TIFR, inaugurated the programme.  Students from 35 colleges of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu participated in the mega event.

The mission of EPSILON 2017 is to create a platform, where students can express their scientific acumen in a creative manner. Seven main events were designed with this mission in mind.

Science showdown, an exhibition for young scientists to showcase their finest of projects and prototypes; Radio shark, electronics based event involving intercepting and decoding broadcasted messages in a race to victory; Eureka, a treasure hunt with a twist, the treasure lies in the hunt itself; Soapbox race, a one of its kind mechanical engineering based event, where participants design the braking and steering systems of a gravitationally accelerated kart; Mission improbable, an event where the smartest minds attempt to debate their out of an apocalyptic scenario presented them.  The Epsilon ideathon, an event where creativity meets entrepreneurship. It revolves around the revival of failed scientific ideas that would change today’s world and revolutionize it. And Inquizitive, a science and technology based quiz with a platform of questions based on various topics and fields.

Dr. MR Doreswamy, Chancellor, PES University, visited the stalls and appreciated the students for their creative work.
