'Govt high school girl students would be provided with churidhars and duppatas instead of shirt and skirts'

Submitted by Editor on Fri, 2016-10-14 20:36 Bengaluru: The state government has decided to recruit 14,000 teachers for government schools to overcome the shortage of staff.Speaking to the media, Tanveer Sait, Minister for Higher and Secondary Education said there was a “shortage of 14,589 teachers in government schools across the state”. “Hence, we will recruit 14000 teachers. We were supposed to recruit 10000 teachers in 2015-16 but due to some reasons the government could not do so,” he said.The minister also said that from next academic year, girl students in class 8, 9 and 10 in government schools would be provided with churidhars and duppatas instead of shirt and skirts.“The government is also going to setup cluster laboratory at various places to check the quality of mid-day meals provided to the students,” he added.Sait said the government would also provide special training to teachers to improve their teaching skills. “We have decided to give more importance to attendance and also gather essential materials like notebooks, text books, uniforms and socks and shoes before the academic year begins,” he said
