Trichur Brothers provide Ganga with a hit anthem

Submitted by alvin on Mon, 2016-07-25 18:19 Bengaluru: Popular Carnatic vocalists Vidwan Srikrishna Mohan and Vidwan Raam Kumar, known as Trichur Brothers, have come with a unique video for the Clean Ganga project.Inspired by PM Narendra Modi's talk in Madison Square Garden, New York, where Modi spoke on cleaning the Ganga, the duo worked for two years on the Namami Gange Anthem, a video of which is now available on YouTube.The song comprises Sanskrit lyrics originally composed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya in ‘Gangashtakam’. Music for the anthem is by Trichur Brothers and the video, which took 48 days to shoot.The video was shot at Sangam, Varanasi, Haridwar, and several other holy places falling on Ganga’s journey.Released on July 7 by the Union minister Uma Bharati in Haridwar and sponsored by the SBI, the music video has now been named as the official anthem for the Clean Ganga movement by the Central government. The song has become quite popular as it has received more than 1.8 million so far.The brothers are known for their innovative ideas, so this is something new and melodious from their side for the environment. Ganga is referred to Ganga maa which liberates uncertainties of people and removes all impurities. The NMCG project is Modiji's initiative to clean the pious river Ganga.Total amount of  Rs 20,000 cr is allotted for the clean-up project. With noble intentions the brothers created the video with a beautiful theme, and divinity in music. It also upholds our rich tradition and culture. The video is realistic by showing the life of people who live on the banks of the river Ganga. The Namami Gange theme song video is the brain child of Trichur Brothers. Listening to the Namami Gange anthem gives thrilling experience and make us feel proud. Author's family with Trichur brothersSpeaking to bfirst.in, about where this video was shot, Vid Srikrishan Mohan said, “We covered the entire length of the Ganga, shot over 2500 kms, from Gowmukh to Ganga Sagar, capturing places and life widgets in between. The video was shot over a 3 week period, with no compromises on the audio and video production quality or equipments.” “Very few elements in the music video have actors. Most of the shots are real life stories, of people who live on this vast stretch: the shots of the children sitting by the banks, women washing clothes against a stone, people praying to the river etc,” he added.When asked whether the song is composed for any specific audience, Vid Raam Kumar, said, “ Neither they do make a song keeping a specific audience in mind.The subject of Namami Gange is a national one and we wanted the music video to resonate amongst everyone – young and old, rich and poor, educated and uneducated, all religions and castes.”Salutes to the excellent rendering of music and a great piece of work by the artists. The brothers received appreciation from cricketer M.S Dhoni and music director, composer AR Rahman through twitter. No doubt the voice of singers is blissful and creates awareness of keeping the river Ganga clean.
