In a noble gesture, Parents Ashwin Prabhu and Shreelatha Prabhu, residents of Mannagudda, donated the hair to 'Pantene Beautiful Lengths', a US-based company which prepares wigs for cancer patients.    According to the parents, only two strands of their son's hair were offered to the 'homa kunda' as per tradition while the rest was packed as per the company's guidelines to be sent as donation. Before being dispatched, the hair has to be shampooed. After being dried, the hair is wrapped in a plastic and sent to Pantene Beautiful Lengths Centre in America along with a photograph of the child before and after the hair cut.  As the donors also have an option to donate the wigs to any nation, Arnav’s parents have requested Pantene Beautiful Lengths that the  wig be donated to cancer patients in India. "Pantene Beautiful Lengths also confirmed that Arnav was the youngest person to donate hair," said Arnav’s parents.
