Woman files complaint against CEO over threatening phone calls

Submitted by alvin on Wed, 2016-06-15 09:50 Bengaluru: A complaint has been filed at the Whitefield Police station against a CEO of a private firm in the city for making threatening phone calls to a woman he was in love with.The complainant said that, an employee at an MNC, and Karthik Reddy, CEO of a private firm, met each other through social media in the first week of May. Karthik allegedly told her that he was in love with her and that he wanted to marry her. Karthik also lived at her house and visited her frequently.According to the police, the trouble started when the she learnt about Karthik’s undisclosed affair with a Hyderabad-based girl on noticing the phone messages being sent by her. Karthik had made similar marriage promises to her as well.Karthik was evasive when the she asked him about his other relationships. However, she confirmed the news of Karthik’s previous affair after she got in touch with the girl from Hyderabad through various social websites.Soon after, Karthik allegedly became abusive towards the complainant, threatening to eliminate her in a car accident or in an acid attack. He has also been abusing her verbally through phone calls or messages, the complaint detailed.Speaking to Bfirst, a police official from Whitefield Police station said, “We will investigate the matter. He will be interrogated based on the complaint. He can be booked under IPC section 420 for cheating, 506 for criminal intimidation and 493 for cohabitation caused by a man deceitfully inducing a belief of lawful marriage.”Boralingaiah MB, DCP (South East) said, “I am aware of this issue. We will find him soon.”
