The incident happened in Ambedkar Nagar in Banashankari 2nd Stage on Thursday night. The deceased Chaitra was the wife of Manikanta, 28, a painter, who ended his life on Wednesday. According to the police, the duo was in love with each other for six years and had got married with their parents’ consent in 2014. Manikanta's health and finances were in a poor condition. His kidneys had failed and he had racked up huge debts for treatment. With his health showing no signs of improvement, Manikanta ended his life by hanging himself on Wednesday morning at his house. His last rites were performed at the Banashankari electric crematorium on Thursday evening. Unable to bear the death of her husband, Chaitra too ended her life on Thursday. “Around 10.30 pm, Chaitra’s mother Manjula went to her room and was shocked to find her hanging from the ceiling. She left a note stating, 'Please wait for me, I am following you. I miss you’, which is addressed to her husband,” the police said. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Banashankari police station.
