Raghavendra S, 26, and Hoysala, 23, II semester MTech students from East West College on Magadi Road, have been arrested by Airport Police for putting out a false email about a possible hijack, and implicated the three professors. According to the police, the duo – claiming to be part of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim gang – created a fake mail id and sent a mail threatening to hijack a plane to Kempegowda International Airport on March 22. What is more, they uploaded the photographs of their three professors – stating them to be part of the gang – to take “revenge” for giving them low marks in internal assessment. Raghavendra and Hoysala alleged that the three professors gave girl students higher marks. The two students sent the first threat mail on March 22 following which the police tightened the security around the airport. But, the police found it to be a hoax. They decided to send another mail on May 6. The police then stepped up the security and managed to track down Raghavendra and Hoysala.
