Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2017-02-16 13:21 Bengaluru: The East division police conducted a raid on a house at HBR Layout and arrested a gang of six including three women on charges of trafficking minor girls here on Tuesday. The police have rescued five girls in the age group of 12 to 17 years. The arrested have been identified as Shakeela, 40, Muneera Bhanu, 30, Yasmin Sulthan, 35, Mubarak, 23, Imran, 22 and Nadeem Mohammed, 23, all residents of HBR Layout and nearby areas. According to an investigation officer, two of the rescued victims – of 12 and 14 years – belong to the accused who among other victims were sent with customers. “The accused would charge Rs 20,000 to send girls with customers for a minimum of 10 days. During the raid, it came to light that the girls were with the customers for than 10 days,” said an investigating officer. Police said that victims blamed their parents who allegedly forced them to prostitution against their will. In order to facilitate them for various customers, they would frequently shift their localities. The accused used to lead a luxurious life from the money they earned by coaxing the minor girls into prostitution. The police have registered a case against them under the provision of section 366a (procuration of minor girl), 370a (exploitation of a trafficked person) and 372 (selling minor for purpose of prostitution) of IPC. Investigation is underway.
