Techie rape case: PG was running without licence and had no security

Submitted by alvin on Wed, 2016-08-31 21:06 Bengaluru: The PG accommodation near Venkatadri Layout in Parappana Agrahara police station limits, where a 23-year-old techie was raped on Aug 26, reportedly was running without any licence and had no security.Police said there was no CCTV, security guard or other security measures for the safety of women staying in the PG, which is owned by a man identified as Venkat Naveen.  Action would be taken against him for running PG without licence, said a police official.The police have also identified the accused as Uday and have formed special teams to trace him.Police suspect that the accused might be a burglar, as he was searching for valuables in the PG before he raped the victim. “He was fully drunk and asked the victim to handover her valuables. Later, he allegedly raped her,” said the police.
