George reportedly refuted allegations made against him by the late DySP before CID officials, who reportedly questioned him for around three hours. According to sources, George said that he might have met Ganapathi while he was home minister. He also spoke of how the officer had approached him seeking help after he was suspended by the then commissioner owing to lapses in an investigation. George reportedly told officials that he did not interfere in the matter and also did not hold any grudge against the DySP during Mangaluru church attack incident. “I have discharged my duties as per the rules and not harassed any officials during my tenure, he reportedly told the investigators.
