Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2016-08-18 20:11 Bengaluru: Five unidentified miscreants thrashed a 26-year-old man from Manipur in Lakshmipura, Indiranagar, in the wee hours of Thursday. According to the complaint, the incident took place around 1am when Evan Mamang Kipgen, who hails from Manipur, left his friend’s house. Evan, who works as an evangelist with the Thadou Christian Fellowship Church, told the police that he visited his friend to conduct a prayer service. After the service, as he was walking towards his bike, he was attacked by a gang of five. As per the complaint, the gang kicked and punched him. When he screamed for help, which were heard by his friends who rushed to help him, the gang fled the scene. Evan said he didn’t know why they attacked him. “They did not even try to rob me,” he said. In his complaint, Evan told the police that the attackers appeared to speaking in Kannada. Condemning the attack, the Thadou Students' Association, Bengaluru, have demanded action from the police.
