The blast that shattered the somnolent Sunday afternoon in Ejipura took place in a two-storeyed house on RA Road in Ejipura. The house, named ‘Shalom” belongs to a man named Mathew. The blast, which is still a mystery, injured four persons, two men and two women, present in the house. Three of the injured are in a critical condition. One of the women who received serious injuries was rushed to St John’s Hospital, while the rest were admitted to Bowring Hospital. The Bomb Disposal Squad, along with explosive detecting canines rushed to the spot. Central Range DCP Sandeep Patil too rushed to the spot. NS Megharik, Commissioner, Bengaluru City Police, who was on the spot, said that gas leakage was noticed at around 8am, but the blast occurred at 12.15pm, injuring four persons.
