Submitted by alvin on Sat, 2016-07-16 20:35 Bengaluru: A 25-year-old youth died after an auto driver assaulted him during a heated exchange in Koramangala police station limits on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Akshath, a resident of Tavarekere. According to the police, Akshath had gone near St. John’s Hospital along with his friends to have tea around 1.30am on Friday. While they were passing in a car, there got into an altercation with an auto driver, who allegedly abused them for reckless driving. The friends stopped the auto driver and got into an heated argument, following which the auto driver allegedly punched Akshath on his face. Akshath collapsed while the auto driver left. “Akshath was rushed to a hospital by his friends and he passed away after a few hours. There are no external injuries on the body and the reason for the death is not known. It is learnt that he was under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place. We are awaiting the post mortem report to know the exact reason for the death. A murder case has been registered by the Koramangala police,” DCP (South East) MB Boralingaiah said.
