Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2016-07-14 09:41 Bengaluru: A 22-year-old youth from Odisha, who posing as a sepoy had been cheating youth by promising them jobs in army, was arrested by officials from the Military Intelligence. Based on a tip off, a team of army intelligence officals on Tuesday rushed to command hospital on old airport road, where the accused Debarat Raut had come to meet his clients in full uniform. Initially, Raut tried to misguide officials by identifying himself as gunman of ASC centre, but he confessed to the crime upon being grilled. The accused was later handed over to the Jurisdictional Halasooru police station and remanded in judicial custody. A preliminary inquiry has revealed that Debabrat Raut had duped several gullible candidates and had collected over Rs7 lakh from them in the last one year.
