Submitted by alvin on Tue, 2016-07-05 20:12 Bengaluru: A 25-year-old Nigerian national was charged with peddling drugs and arrested by the narcotics squad of the Central Crime Branch. The accused Nduba Joseph, 25, hails from Anam city of Anambra State in Nigeria. Police said they arrested the Nigerian after receiving a tip-off that an African national would be selling drugs at the Indiranagar Metro station. Based on the tip-off, they set up a trap using a decoy and made the arrest. “Investigations revealed that he had come to India on a business visa in November 2015 and was staying in the city since then. His visa expired in May this year and he was overstaying. He confessed that he had purchased drugs from a person in T. C. Palya and sold it in sachets to college students and private company employees,” the police added. The police seized six grams of cocaine worth Rs30,000 and a two-wheeler from the accused. A case is registered in Indiranagar police station in this connection.
