Submitted by Kumuda on Fri, 2016-07-01 12:56 Mangaluru: Third JMFC court judge Manjunath extended police custody of Naresh Shenoy alias NaMo Naresh – prime accused in the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga – till July 2. Also, allowed the police to subject the accused to polygraph and brain mapping tests. Shenoy had been absconding since the murder and was nabbed on June 26. He was produced before the court on June 27 and the court had given the custody till June 30. Investigating officer ACP K Tilak Chandra produced Shenoy at the court and sought five more days of custody. Explaining to the court, the investigating officer said the police have seized the vehicle which Shenoy used to flee from the city to Goa and then to Delhi. Besides, a two-wheeler has also been seized which was used by assailants. Stating that the arrested has discarded mobile phones and sim cards thus destroying the crucial evidence, the officer sought further extension of the custody. The court extended Shenoy’s custody till Saturday.
