Having a Konkani Bhavan is a long-pending demand of the Konkani speaking communities. It has been two years since the promise has been made to allot a plot, but there has been no progress. It may be recalled here that last month when chief minister was in town he had assured to release funds to construct the Bhavan. He had asked the authorities to identify a plot and prepare the blueprint. After meeting the delegation, Mayor Harinat said that the proposal is being reviewed by a committee and added that a plot will be allotted soon. Academy member Shekar Gowda, Lawrence D’Souza, registrar Dr B Devdas Pai and others were part of the delegation.
