Sadly, taking to drugs is one such indulgences among smoking and alcoholism, observed Dr Sudheendra Prabhu, Prof, Yenapoya University, Mangaluru. He was addressing a gathering at the anti-drug addiction day organised at the Vikas PU College in Mary Hill. Earlier, our forefathers had life expectancy of at least 100 years but today, unfortunately, it is not even 40, if you take to drugs, he observed. He urged the youth to stay away from drugs to lead a better, healthy and confident life. Explaining drug’s effects on one’s health, Dr Prabhu said once addicted, it becomes difficult to lead a life without it. However, the addiction could be cured with the aid of clinical psychologist, he added. DCP Dr Sanjeev Patil, former MLA Krishna J Palimar also Chairman of Vikas PU College and principal Venkat Raydu were present.
