RTI activist murder: 770-page chargesheet states Naresh Shenoy as prime accused

Submitted by Kumuda on Fri, 2016-06-24 13:25 Mangaluru: Naresh Shenoy alias NaMo Naresh has been mentioned as the prime accused – in the brutal murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga – in the 770-page chargesheet filed by the city police at the Third JMFC court here on Thursday. The chargesheet filed under Sec 302 of IPC also says the prime accused Naresh is absconding since three months. So far, the police have arrested six persons with regard to the murder of the RTI activist. Recently, the police nabbed Srikant, 42, son of Aithappa Mulya. A resident of Kavoor, Srikant has been accused of mediating between Naresh Shenoy and the three arrested persons. The police have already arrested Vineet Poojary, Nishit Devadiga, Shiva alias Shivaprasad, Shailesh and K Manjunath Shenoy, who has been released on bail. It may be recalled here that 52-year-old RTI activist Vinayak Baliga was brutally murdered near his house at Kodialbail in the wee hours on March 21. A special team has been formed to trace Naresh Shenoy and other accused who are still on the run.
