Nuggekai is special for me: Sandalwood actress Ester Noronha
What’s on actress Ester Noronha’s menu?
Bengaluru: Actress Ester Noronha is eagerly awaiting the release of her new film ‘Nuggekai’ (Drumstick). Ester, who is a trainer classical dancer, Carnatic vocalist and a multi-lingual star, made debut in Sandalwood with ‘Usiruginta Neene Attira’.
“I am really excited about ‘Nuggekai’ because it is special for me,” says Ester. “When director Venugopal narrated the script, I could not resist it. I am playing a sweet and loveable girl who comes from a village. I do not want to comment about the performance and dialogues of other artistes in Nuggekai but my role is a decent one. I have a solo song in the film sung by the great singer Chitra madam.”
Ester has acted in Telugu films such as ‘Garam’, ‘Veyyi Apaddaalu’ and ‘Bheemavaram Bullodu’. She has also starred in Konkani film ‘Nosibacho Khell’, Marathi film ‘Majhi Aashiqui’, and Tamil film ‘Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum’. She has also one Hindi film, ‘Baromas’, directed by Saroj Khan in 2012, to her credit.
Easter is one of the two heroines (the other being Christen Joy) in ‘Nuggekai’, which has Madhusoodhan in the lead. The movie reportedly has plenty of double-entendre.
The film has been shot in Mangaluru, Suratkal beach and Ullal. But Director Venugopal is anxious about the film’s certificate. “My film ‘Thale Bachakoli Powder Hakoli’ got a ‘U/A’ certificate while ‘Silence’ received an ‘A’ certificate,” says Venugopal, adding he is clueless about ‘Nuggekai’s’ censor certificate.
Nayana, Suchendra Prasad, Dattanna, Bank Janardhan, Biradar, Pooja Shetty, Jennifer Antony, Ranjit, Udit Prasad form the rest of the cast.
