Constable attacked, rowdy sheeters injured in hot chase

Submitted by Kumuda on Wed, 2016-06-22 16:16 Bengaluru: Two rowdy sheeters sustained bullet injuries after KG Halli police opened fire on them in an early morning chase at HBR Layout on Wednesday. Shabbir and his associate Barkath were on the run after gunning down their arch rival, Parvez on the busy Shivajinagar road on Tuesday night. According to the police, Shabbir was upset that Parvez was growing in popularity and had started dominating. Shabbir and five of his associates attacked Parvez, killing him on the spot. Soon, the police swung into action and put up check points at all entry and exit points. It was around 3 am, when KG Halli inspector Srinivas noticed Shabbir and Barkath riding on the motorcycle. He intercepted the duo but they attacked constable Padmanabha with lethal weapon. In order to neutralise them Srinivas opened three rounds of fire. Injured duo have now been admitted at Dr BR Ambedkar Hospital. Police have launched a manhunt to nab four others who were said to have assisted Shabbir and Barkath in the crime.
