Malleswaram blast: Police nab explosives supplier

Submitted by Kumuda on Tue, 2016-06-14 12:04 Bengaluru: The Central Crime branch police have arrested a 35-year-old man accused of supplying raw material for Malleswaram blast, on April 17, 2013. The accused identified as Danial Prakash alias Prakash was nabbed from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu on the basis of information provided by Pervez Basha. Basha is already in the police custody. It is said that Prakash was a former vice-president of Pudukudi gram panchayat. So far, the police have arrested 18 in connection with the blast. According to a press release, Prakash was one of the prime accused and he supplied materials that were tied up to a bike to cause explosion near the BJP office. It may be recalled here, the explosion occurred near the BJP headquarters in Malleswaram on April 17, 2013 had left 17 injured including 12 police personnel, who were stationed at the premises in view of elections. It was the last day to file nominations for the May 5 Assembly polls and Malleswaram was buzzing with electoral activity. However, the blast occurred at 10.20 am shook this quiet part of the city and about 56 residences in the vicinity had suffered damages. The police have filed a chargesheet against 15 accused in the case and they are - Basheer (30), Kichan Buhari (38), Sait Azgar Ali (29), Rehamathulla (34), Valayil Hakeem (32), Syed Suleman (24), Suleman (31), Zulfikar Ali (24), Mohammed Salim (30), Panna Ismail (38), Bilal Malik (25), Fakruddin (38), Pravai Basha, Ali Khan Kutti, Jhone Asir, (35) and Syed Ali (29).
