Shrimad Rajchandra Mission to stage hit play ‘Yogpurush’ in city

Bengaluru: Shrimad Rajchandra Mission is bringing its hit play Yogpurush to Bengaluru.

The play portrays the relationship between Mahatma Gandhi and his mentor, Shrimad Rajchandraji .

“Yugpurush highlights the values of expanding ones’ capacity to love and give selflessly, respecting diversity, upholding truth, fostering trust, and building lasting communities. The legacies of Shrimadji and Gandhiji continue to offer new paradigms to global peace and human progress,” said the mission in a release.

The play is directed by acclaimed director Rajesh Joshi of ‘Code Mantra’ fame, scripted by well-known playwright Uttam Gada of ‘Maharathi’ fame. The music direction is by popular composer duo Sachin - Jigar.

Following the play’s “stupendous success in Gujarati, the play premiered in Hindi at the newly refurbished and iconic Royal Opera House in Mumbai”.

“After having taken Mumbai by storm, with shows which ran to full houses and standing ovations, Yugpurush is set to inspire audiences in South India,” said the release.
