Are women safe in Bengaluru? This CCTV footage has the answer

Submitted by Kumuda on Wed, 2017-01-04 11:41 Bengaluru: While the Home Minister has underplayed the molestation cases during the New Year's eve on MG Road and Brigade Road, yet another horrifying incident of molestation has been reported from Kammanahalli. The incident has been captured on CCTV footage where a girl was groped, kissed and pushed to the ground in the dark by two men. The girl who got down from an auto apparently to reach her home was followed by a bike-borne youths in the dark. The duo who were going in the opposite direction took a "u" turn. When she began to walk fast, the pillion walked towards her and sexually assaulted her. When she resisted, she was dragged towards the vehicle, molested and then later pushed to the ground after snatching her purse. The victim is seen getting up and walking back to her place. Though the police have said that there has been no complaint by the victim so far, they have registered a suo motu compliant of molestation and attempt to rob based on a footage made available by the resident of the locality. However, the police have said that the victim who managed to break free from her tormentors by raising an alarm has allegedly packed up and left the city. But they have promised stringent action against the molesters.
