Priya, a third-year student from Lisaa School of Design, said her collection was about her life which was quite secretive. "A hidden part in my life, which I never show or disclose, is what my design talks about,” said Priya adding that she was an adopted child yet given all the love and care in the world. “I am very lucky and thankful to have been accepted by my family. They have always thought about my protection and safety and treated me as their own child. So through my collection, I showed the thankful yet classy side of my life,” she said. Another student Kashik Mehta, a second-year student of fashion designing course, said his designs were based on the badminton theme. “The concept behind the dress is to go beyond the normal looks and reflect the energy and proactive lifestyle that reveal on wearing the dress. The shuttle is also uniquely integrated with this theme which reflects the agility and the observance,” he said. Showcasing her designs, Alice Esteva, another student of Lisaa, said, “The colours have been chosen keeping in mind what they manifest. Rose and serenity blue are the colour of the attire as they provide respite to the eyes of the audience from the trendy and edgy fashion lines,” she said. Lisaa School of Design director Girish Keswani said the show presented an opportunity for students to display their work in public. “This needs lot of guts and months of preparations. We help students in these kinds of ventures because it helps them to become one of the best designers in the industry,” said Girish.
