A new musical reality show “Navu yarig kami ella”, dedicated exclusively for the physically challenged in Karnataka, is going to telecasted this October. Auditions for the show conceived by Navachethana Charitable Trust, an organisation working to improve the lives of the physically challenged, are going to begin from July 12. “This is the first time in the history of music reality TV where the whole show is dedicated for the physically challenged,” said Naveen Vajrappa, director of the reality show, adding that the first episode would be aired on Oct 8 and the last would be telecasted on Jan 15. “Every new episode will be broadcasted on Saturday and Sunday and a total of 30 episodes will be shot,” said Vijrappa, adding that auditions would be held in Kalagrama Malahalli, Bengaluru. As per the plan, 50 contestants will be selected in the first audition. They will be filtered to 30 in the second audition, with the final 30 contestants getting a chance to be trained in janapada loka by experts for a month. Any physically challenged person between 18 to 35 years of age is allowed to participate. The winner will be awarded prize money of Rs3 lakh followed by Rs2 lakh for the runner up. A non-profit voluntary organisation, Navachetana was started in the year 2014. The trust has so far organised sixty-five musical fests all over Karnataka apart from organising forty- two health campaigns.
