Bengaluru: The Bandipur forest staff on Thursday arrested three persons for possessing wildlife trophies, which are allegedly the molars of Prince - the tiger, which had died in the last week of March.
They have been identified as Sonna and Bomma of Cheluvarayanapura.
The death of Prince triggered a controversy as the face of the big cat was missing. It was suspected that the big cat might have been poached, while the post mortem report said that the animal died of starvation.
However the controversy died when the department found the missing face sans his tooth.
Initially, the forest department officials rubbished the allegation.
Later the department has continued with the probe until team headed by ACF Poovaiah zeroed in on the culprits at Cheluvarayanapura.
The department officials took them into custody and recovered three molars from the culprits. They have been produced before the court.
