Karnataka govt clearing big projects to raise money for assembly polls: HDK

Madikeri: HD Kumaraswamy on Friday alleged that the state government was collecting money for the next assembly polls by pushing through huge projects which were anti-people. He said such projects merely filled the Congress coffers and referred to the claim of a Congress MLA, who announced that he faced no cash crunch and was ready to spend Rs10-cr.

The JD(S) chief said thousands of families were migrating to other places but the state government was claiming it was providing Anna Bhagya to prevent migration. Kumaraswamy promised to waive Rs52,000-cr loans if the party came to power. He also termed the Centre's decision to ban red beacons a gimmick. Kumaraswmy said in foreign countries ministers did not use government vehicles and demanded a similar system here.
