Bengaluru: Mining baron and former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy paid a visit to Bannerghatta Biological Park and adopted an elephant and three tiger cubs of the park.
Among three tiger cubs, two female cubs have been named Arunya and Shambhavi, while the male cub has been named after Reddy's family deity Lord Shiva.
Interestingly the six-month-old elephant has been named after his close friend Sriramulu.
The former minister, who had been jailed in illegal mining case in 2015 and walked out of jail only one year ago, had been to Bannerghatta a fortnight ago. During the visit, he had shown interest to adopt the elephant and the tiger cubs.
