Bengaluru: KPCC President Parameshwara on Friday said that the Congress corporators were in favour of continuing the partnership with the JD(S) for the upcoming mayoral polls.
After holding a meeting of the party corporators to discuss the party's strategy, Parameshwara said, "There is a consensus on going with the JD(S). Ramalinga Reddy has already spoken with Deve Gowda. But there has been no decision yet on mayoral candidate. If a need arises, I will speak with HD Kumaraswamy and Deve Gowda myself."
With the Congress having made its stand clear, it is up to the JD(S). Reports in the media state the many JD(S) coirporators are not keen on extending the partnership. The bone of contention is the mayor's post. The JD(S) leadership wants the post this time while the Congress seems wary of handing over the post considering it is election year.
On BS Yeddyurappa's claim of releasing a 'charge-sheet' on the state government's scams, Parameshwara mocked the claim. "He has been making these allegations against the CM for the past six months. Let him produce the evidence. The party will react after that," said the KPCC president.
