Police nab seven persons in Karopadi GP murder case

Bantwal: The police arrested seven persons in connection with the Congress leader Abdul Jaleel murder case.

The arrested have been identified as Rajesh Nayak from Karopadi, Narasimha from Mani, Prajwal, Pushparaj Gowda, Roshan, Puneeth and Sachin from Puttur taluk.

According to unconfirmed reports, the miscreants hatched a plot to eliminate Abdul Jaleel after he tried to protect an inter-faith couple in his locality.
On April 20, a gang of four had barged into the office of Karopadi Gram Panchayat in Bantwal taluk and murdered 40-year-old Abdul Jaleel, who was the vice-president of the GP.
