Mangaluru: Prof. (Dr.) US Krishna Nayak, Principal and Dean, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, was conferred with the ‘Distinguished Orthodontist Award of the Year 2016’ for excellence in orthodontics by the Indian Health Professional Awards Committee. The award was presented at a glittering function in Pune recently. Dr. Krishna Nayak has previously been the head of The Indian Orthodontic Society, Indian Dental Association, International College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy to name a few.

The award was presented to Suresh Bhandary during a glittering function held at Taj Hotel by Bollywood actors Mugda Godse, Gulshan Grover, Harsh Goenka and Ashok Damankar.
Mumbai: The fourth Humanity First festival 2016 has been organised on September 25 at Cidco Exhibition Centre, Vashi, Navi Mumbai at 3 pm. The Foundation is a national human rights organisation with 40,000 members and 1500 office-bearers. The festival aims to gather support for the foundation’s 22 social welfare and human rights projects. These projects have already benefited thousands of underprivileged in need.Various cultural programmes have been lined up during the festival. Besides, the organisers will award Human First Foundation award.

Mumbai: Billavas Association organised its annual scholarship distribution programme at Narayana Guru auditorium, Santacruz (East), in Mumbai. On the occasion, scholarships were distributed to talented students of the community. Mumbai: Billawar Association organised a blood camp at Billawar Bhavan, Santacruz (East), Mumbai, on Sunday. Organised in collaboration with Prabhodan Thackeray Blood Bank, Goregaon, Association president Nityanand D Kotian and social activist Chandravati inaugurated the blood camp here on Sunday morning. Nearly 200 people, including 80 members of Seva Dal, voluntarily donated blood on the occasion.

He was speaking at a preliminary meeting of launching of BCCI at Deepa Comforts, Mangaluru, recently. Mumbai: Winners of the #100Women Initiative, a joint initiative of Facebook and Union Woman and Child Development (WCD) ministry, met the President of India on the eve of the Republic day. The initiative aims to recognise women leaders in India who are making a difference to peoples’ lives across India. People were invited to submit nominations on the Ministry’s Facebook page and then vote on the shortlist of finalists.
