Bengaluru: In a big boost to air travel in the border areas, a flight service from Ballari to Hyderabad became operational on Thursday as part of the central government's UDAN scheme.
The service was inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha.
The flight is being operated by Trujet at extremely affordable rates.
The 70-seater Trujet flight will leave Hyderabad at 6.20am and land at Jindal airport in Sandur taluk at 7.25am. On its return journey, the flight will leave Jindal airport at 7.55am and reach Hyderabad at 9am.
The cost per ticket ranges from Rs999-Rs2,500.
Sinha said that Ballari would be connected to Bengaluru, Mumbai and other major cities in the coming days.
