Bhatkal Community Jeddah,Bhatkal Community A, Energia Al Faris, Manki Community Jeddah and Jeddah Tamil Thunders participated in the league organised by NRI Sports Federation, in association with SACQO and Bhatkal Community, Jeddah, at the Shababiya Ground, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Doha: The Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Qatar, celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 9 at the Indian Cultural Centre. As many as 40 women were invited for the celebrations. International Women’s Day celebrated on March 8th is dedicated to women and is a day to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of ordinary women. The theme of this year was “Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030”.
Abu Dhabi: Mangalore cup 2017 (Season-5), an over arm hard tennis MRI ball cricket tournament was held under the auspices of the Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) at Sheikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium ground, here. As many as 20 Karnataka teams from across United Arab Emirates participated in the event. All the matches were planned to be of six overs each, however, the final matches were cut short to three overs due to time constrains.
Manama: Young Konkani rock star Kevin Misquith entertained the Bahraini crowd with his evergreen songs on Friday, February 24, 2017, setting a new trend in the history of Bahrain’s Konkani music. Thirty-year-old Kevin Misquith, born in Bahrain, presented his 45th live-in-concert along with his band members Jackson Noronha and Clyde Ashley Lobo and local musicians Sayonjee Simon, Rajeev and Edwin Cardozo.

Flipperz, Dubai clinched the cricket tournament while Coastal Friends – Dubai won the men's throwball event. Konkans Dubai clinched the women's throwball event.
Manama: Konkani’s young music icon Kevin Misquith was accorded a warm welcome in Bahrain yesterday. He reached the island, where he was born three decades ago, along with his companions Jackson Noronhna and Clyde Ashley Lobo. A huge group of Kevin’s well-wishers, Bahrain Konkans conveners and local artists gathered at Karnataka Social Club auditorium on Saturday, February 18, after he reached Manama via King Fahd Causeway.
Kochi: Oscar winner A.R. Rahman will stage a live concert in UAE on March 17 after a gap of seven years. Media house Mathrubhumi Group will host the evene at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. M.V. Shreyamskumar, Director - Marketing and Electronic Media of Mathrubhumi Group, told IANS that they are excited about getting Rahman to perform, especially as he will take to the stage in UAE after so long.
Dubai: The organising committee responsible for the Agnesian-Aloysian Reunion-2017 is leaving no stone unturned to make the event a huge success. Riyadh: The Katipalla Muslim Youth Association (KMYA) Riyadh held its 18th AGM in Riyadh. The meeting commenced with recitation verses from holy Quran by Saifullah Mahin. President Parvez Ali presided over the function and welcomed the members and guests. In his speech, the president spoke about the senior founder members of the organisation, who setup the origination back in 1996, and also thanked the committee and the members for their hard work.
Doha: Tulu Koota Doha's Ravi Shetty has been nominated to the new Advisory Council of the ICBF for the term 2017-19. A letter issued from R. K. Singh, DCM & CO, ICBF, confirmed the appointment of Tuluva Ravi Shetty. The CBF Managing Committee for the term 2017-19 was formed several weeks ago. The new committee, comprising both elected as well as nominated members, has already started its work for the term 2017-19.
Abu Dhabi: Mangalore cup 2017 (Season-5) over arm cricket tournament has been organised by Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) at Sheikh Zayed International Cricket stadium, on Feb 24. MCC President Lathif KH informed the media that, “This is our fifth consecutive year of MCC tournaments. Its getting bigger and better by years. This time we are hosting the event at International cricket pitch. We have received immense support from cricket lovers and Kannadigas of United Arab Emirates for the last 4 seasons. We expect more teams and at least 5000 crowd this year.”

Dubai: Blue Berry International Events in association with Tulu drama troupe Gammath Kalavider will present Tulu comedy drama, ’Telikeda Barsolu’ by playwright Devadas Kapikad on Feb 3. The play will be staged at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium to mark the sixth anniversary of the troupe. Noted director Vishwanath Shetty will be directing the drama. Abu Dhabi: Bunts Dubai men’s team clinched the prestigious Koosamma Shambu Shetty Memorial (KSSM) Trophy 2017 after beating Konkans Dubai in the final. In the women’s section, the ladies throwball team of Bunts Dubai prevailed over Mangalore Konkans Dubai team while Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha men’s and ladies throwball teams defeated Coastal Friends UAE teams to emerge as 2nd runners-up. The KSSM tournament, organised every year in memory of the late Koosamma Shambu Shetty, mother of Padmashree Dr B R Shetty, was held on Friday at Abu Dhabi Indian School ground.
