Bengaluru: Officials of Narcotics Control Bureau arrested a 35-year-old Nigerian national for trying to smuggle 200 grams of cocaine in Rajdhani Express bound for Bengaluru on Thursday.
Based on a tip-off, a team of officials boarded the train after it reached Secunderabad and caught Lary Onyekachi. The seized drugs is estimated to be worth around Rs 1 crore in international market, a senior official said.
Inquiries revealed that Lary had collected the contraband from his contact in Delhi and was travelling to Bengaluru to hand it over to his associate.
Lary had come to india on a business visa in 2012 but never returned even after his visa expired. He continued to live in Chander Vihar in New Delhi with the help of forged travel documents, the police officer said.
Officials are investigating to ascertain Lary's inter-state contacts.
