Udupi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said the government was thinking about enacting a uniform sand policy for the coastal districts.
The CM answered queries on several issues such as the recent bypoll victories to the attack on Udupi DC.
On the issue of the recent attack on Udupi DC Priyanka May Francis, Siddaramaiah said stern action would be taken against the culprits.
Asked about the bye-poll victories, the CM said while the absence of the JD(S) helped the Congress, it was not the only reason for the party's win. Siddaramaiah also took a dig at state BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa saying that the BJP cannot take voters for granted.
On the issue of reviving Brahmavar sugar factory, the CM said it may not be possible until sugarcane was grown in the district.
Earlier, the CM was accorded a warm welcome by Udupi in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj, Kaup MLA Vinaykumar Sorake, Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis, Kundapur Assistant Commissioner Shilpa Nag, SP Balakrishna and others.
