Bengaluru: Good news for Golden Star Ganesh's fans. The actor's much-awaited Kannada film 'Pataaki', a re-make of Telugu film 'Pataasu', will be releasing across the state on May 26. The film is special for Ganesh's fans since their favourite hero is playing the role of a police officer.
The film seems to have turned out well since Producer S V Babu, who watched the movie at the request of director Manju Swaraj recently, called up Ganesh at midnight to congratulate him on his performance.
"Generally, Babu sir calls me over the phone after 9 am or before 10 pm. I was surprised to receive the phone call from him midnight. As soon as I said hi sir, he started showering praises on me for my performance in 'Pataaki'. I am sure of 'Pataaki's' success at the box-office since it has all the ingredients to entertain not only my fans but also others, including family audiences,'' said Ganesh.
Babu said actor actor Sai Kumar urged him to buy the rights of the film. "I could not say no to Sai Kumar when he told me to buy the rights of 'Pataasu' for re-making it in Kannada. I am also entering into film distribution and 'Pataaki' is my first film as a distributor. I am planning to distribute Kannada and other language films in Karnataka," said Babu.
Thanking Babu for re-making the film, Sai Kumar said he wanted to introduce his son Aadi into Sandalwood through the film. "I could not introduce him since he was busy with Telugu films. Golden Star Ganesh plays the son of a police commissioner (played by me) in the film and has done justice to his assignment," said Sai Kumar.
Director Manju Swaraj said though 'Pataaki', more than half of the script had been improvised. "I have included an item song and also Sadhu Kokila's character that are not in the Telugu film,'' said Manju Swaraj.
