Bengaluru: The closing ceremony of 10th edition of the All India Air Force Schools' Athletics and Sports Championship was held at Air Force Station Jalahalli.
The four-day sports event, which began on 27th August, witnessed stiff competition between the eight teams in 14 events across six disciplines. The annual championship provided a platform to the Air Force School students at the national level to compete with their best in the field of games and athletics.
The trophies and medals were presented by Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, Indian Air Force, Asha Bhadauria, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) and Air Marshal SK Ghotia, Senior Air Staff Officer, Training Command.
The overall championship was won by students of Air Headquarters and South Western Air Command came a close second. In his closing address, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief highlighted the importance of sports in instilling discipline, espirit-de-corps and keeping a person physically fit and mentally agile.
