The dead included two Indians, said media reports. Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Vikas Swarup said that the two Indians that appear on a list put out by the Russian authorities are Anju Kathirvel Aiyappan and Mohan Shyam. The list of nationalities of victims in the crash include: 44 Russians, 8 from Ukraine, 2 from India, 1 from Uzbekistan. According to preliminary information, the plane was landing when it hit the ground and broke into pieces at the airport about 950 kilometers (600 miles) south of Moscow, news agencies quoted state news agency Tass as saying. Air-traffic control and local emergency services confirmed that the Boeing 737-800 jet crashed near the runway during a second approach due to poor visibility. According to Flydubai, the jet was carrying 55 passengers — 33 women, 18 men, four children — and seven crew members. CCTV camera footage posted on YouTube claimed to have captured the moment of the explosion. However, its authenticity could not be immediately verified. (With ANI inputs)
