Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2016-03-03 09:30 Mulheim an der Ruhr (Germany): Indian ace shuttler PV Sindhu advanced to the second round of the German Grand Prix Gold after defeating American opponent Schafer Rong in the women's singles event here on Wednesday.The seventh seed claimed a 21-11, 21-13 win over Rong in a contest that lasted just 31 minutes.Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth and Parupalli Kashyap will play their second round in the men's singles event later in the day.Sindhu had been going through a rough patch after clinching the Malaysia Masters earlier this year.She lost to young compatriot Ruthvika Shivani Gadde in the South Asian Games, before suffering losses to Japan's Nozomi Okuhara and Korea's Ji Hyun Sung in the Badminton Asia Championship.
