But take a visit to the Bantwal block resource centre (BRC) and you will be surprised to see bright-coloured walls complementing a pleasant ambience. Images depicting Tulunadu culture adorn beautifully painted walls here. Besides, the policies and programmes of the government written on the walls make for a good read. Following the refurbishment of Block Education Office, the resource centre co-ordinator Rajesh decided to add a dash of colour to its otherwise old, dull building. Philanthropists came forward to help and soon, the work was taken up with the guidance of art teacher Taranath Kairangala. The work covers not just the office, but extends to auditorium, corridor and other rooms. One can see the purpose of government projects like mid-day meal scheme, Ksheera Bhagya and Nali-Kali etched in fine colours on the walls. What more, the staff here are happier to work, thanks to its pleasant ambience. Block education officer Sheshashayana hopes that more block resource centres will draw inspiration from Bantwal BRC.
