There is no difference in then and now. I don't understand what has changed. The cases on which Yeddyurappa was removed from the party are still pending..BJP is patronizing with corrupt and criminals in their party. People will not tolerate this," JD (S) leader Danish Ali told media.Meanwhile, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar, echoing similar views, said that appointment of the Lingayat strongman as state party chief exposes BJP's commitment to righteousness."They have appointed him again. They talk about right principles and right values all the time but what about this move," he told ANI.Former chief minister Yeddyurappa, who had quit the party after being accused of corruption and later rejoined, is back as the BJP's Karnataka unit president. The Lingayat strongman, who is credited with providing the BJP its first success in South India, faced a tough tenure as Chief Minister from 2008 onwards after a Lokayukta report accused him of corruption. He was forced to resign and, subsequently left the party, forming the Karnataka Janata Paksha in 2012. He was brought back to the BJP just before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. (ANI)
