C Shivuyadav, advocate hailing from Chitradurga, on Monday, called for suspension of Thippeswamy, Election Officer of Chitradurga district, for alleged irregularities. Addressing media persons at a press conference at the Bengaluru Press Club, Shivuyadav said, “Though I have filed a complaint of 12 pages to the Karnataka State Election Commission about the irregularities done by Thippeswamy, no actions have been taken against him yet.” The advocate claimed the appointment of Thippeswamy as Electoral Officer for Chitradurga District was “unauthorised and illegal” as the officer himself hailed from Belagatta village of Chitradurga taluk. “He has been serving as the tahsildar in Chitradurga district for the past several years and he is living in the same taluk for many years. Therefore his appointment is illegal,” said the advocate. “The Karnataka State Election Commission should ascertain his political affiliations and should also track his cellphone to find out about the people he has been in touch with,” said Shivuyadav.
