Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2016-04-21 16:30 Mysuru: The South Western Railways (SWR), Mysuru division has been conferred overall efficiency shield for its better service and maintenance. The award was presented during the railway week celebration held at Hubli recently. The award is in recognition with its transparent account management, quality engineering, mechanical service and tight security. In the science and technology and safety masseurs’ category Hubli and Mysuru division together shared equal shield. Besides, two officers and 21 employees of Mysuru division have been awarded for their meritorious service. Mysuru Railway division’s revenue was recorded Rs 600.82 crore this year which is up by 14.86 per cent when compared to previous year’s earnings, Rs 523.10 crore. In terms of punctuality too, the Mysuru division is ahead from other three SWR divisions. The division has transported 484 lakh passengers this year compared to 481 lakhs in the previous year. The passenger earnings stood at Rs.232.08 crore which is a slight high of 6.41 per cent in comparison to Rs 218.09 crore of 2014-15.
