All offices, schools and other institutions will reopen today after the extended weekend. The second phase of the scheme was rolled out on the day of Ram Navmi, a public holiday, followed by the weekend. Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai has, however, expressed hope, saying, "We can only win if fought together. People should cooperate for the sake of their children. Today being Monday is big test for the scheme but like last time, I am sure people will support it again." "Taxi, auto etc are properly running in the entire Delhi. The Delhi Metro has enhanced its frequency," he added. The scheme was launched to prevent vehicular pollution. As per the formula, even number cars will ply today on Delhi roads from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening. Delhi auto and taxi unions had last night called off their one-day strike after getting a 'written assurance' from the Transport Minister. The transporters had earlier threatened to go on a one-day strike on Monday to protest against app-based cab services. (ANI)
