Arunachal Governor meets BJP, Congress dissident MLAs: Reports

Submitted by Subeditor on Mon, 2016-02-15 20:03 Itanagar: Dissident MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress Party called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor J.P. Rajkhowa at Raj Bhawan on Monday. According to informed sources, they submitted a representation to the governor in which they staked a claim to form the next state government. Governor Rajkhowa reportedly assured them of the possibility of revoking president's rule in the state somner than later, though this is yet to be confirmed. On Sunday, dissident Arunachal Pradesh Congress leader Kalikho Pul reportedly sought an appointment with Governor Rajkhowa to stake a claim to form agovernment in the state. Deposed Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, however, described this new development as a murder of democracy. According to informed sources, Pul, who reportedly has the support of 32 MLAs, is confident about being asked to form the next government in the state. Tuki has reiterated his stand that the BJP was out to install a "khichdi" government in the state by violating the Constitution. (ANI
