Bengaluru Church Street Blast Case : NIA Arrests Prime Accused

Submitted by Subeditor on Fri, 2016-01-29 19:48 Bengaluru: National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested the prime accused in the 2014 Bengaluru Church Street Blast Case.   The accused has been identified as Mohammed Rafeeq alias Jaweed or Alam Jeb Afridi who was also wanted for conducting a Student's Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) camp in Kerala. He had been absconding for more than five years and a reward of Rs. 3 lakhs had been announced by NIA for any information leading to his arrest. Rafeeq had been residing in outskirts of Bangalore for nearly 3 years and was working as a mechanic for air conditioners.   “During custody, he has confessed to his involvement in the Church Street Blast Case of Bangalore.It is learnt that he wanted to plant bomb inside the Coconut Grove Bar
