Submitted by Editor on Fri, 2016-01-22 09:51 Mangaluru: Leaving shock waves across Karnataka, six alleged IS supporters have been detained from Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Chikkamagaluru and Tumkur in the wee hours of Friday in a joint operation of National Investigating Agency (NIA) and Mumbai ATS. According to the police, suspects have been identified as Najamulla Huda , and Syed Mujahid, Ahad, Asif, Mohammed Afzal and Sayyad Muzahidin Pasha. While Najamulla Huda was detained from his residence near Permude village of Bajpe in Mangaluru, Sayed Mujahid was arrested from Tumkur. Other four were arrested from Bangalore city premises such as Hegde Nagar, Vinayak Nagar, Benson Town and Jakkasandra. The Police sources have revealed that all the suspects have been under police scanner for last six months and could get to know that Huda had visited Gulf countries recently and have carried out discussions with IS terrorists. All suspects ware working as facilitators of IS by recruiting youth to the terror group. Police also claimed that the "terrorists" were conspiring to carry out an attack in Bangalore during Republic Day. The Police have checked the bank details of the suspects to know whether any transaction was done to the Gulf countries. The suspects will be taken to Mumbai for futher interrogation, sources added.
