Submitted by Subeditor on Thu, 2016-01-21 16:05 Bengaluru: Security measures have been beefed up at the French Consulate in the city following a threat letter received by the consulate recently. The staff of the consulate received a threat letter claiming to be written by al- Qaeda militants conveying a message that the organisation will unleash an attack if the French President visit India. Soon after receiving the letter, the staff informed about it to the jurisdictional High Grounds police. The police rushed to the spot and and stepped up the security arrangements. Sandeep Patil, DCP, Central Division, visited the spot to supervise the investigation. The police are probing the source of the letter. The letter was posted from Chennai and a team of police has already gone there and inquired with the staff of the post office to identify the suspect.
