Techie from Namma City goes berserk with sword, injures 22, shot dead

Submitted by Editor on Tue, 2015-12-22 23:14 Karimnagar (Telangana): In an incident that spread shock waves in Telangana, a Bengaluru-based techie attacked 22 people in the street of Karim Nagar before being shot dead by the cops, on Tuesday. Balvinder Singh, a software engineer with a reputed MNC in Bengaluru was reportedly suffering from psychological disorders after he failed the civil service examinations.  Twenty-eight-year-old Singh, whose family lived in Laxmi Nagar locality of Karim Nagar, failed to clear the exams in his last attempt at cracking the exams. Around 7 am this morning, the engineer grabbed a sword hanging on the wall of his wall, and began his stabbing spree. He attacked his mother Baby Kaur and father Amruth Singh, leaving them in a pool of blood. He then rushed out of the house, and went on a stabbing spree, injuring many passersby. The victims included an auto driver. Police were informed and as a patrol team arrived at the spot, Balvinder again attacked them too. In self-protection, police opened the fire, injuring him. Balvinder was shifted to Government District Head Quarters hospital, where he breathed his last. His parents and the injured auto driver, Narayana, also admitted in the same hospital, are said to be hovering between life and death.
